This woman has got a charming personality and an active brain, she has showed her curiosity and ability not only in fashion but in electronic and print media as well. Lauren Katherine Conrad known by L.C. nickname she does not like, is an American author, television personality and fashion designer. She was born and raised in California, 1986. She studied at Laguna Beach High School. Both her parents were architects and her elder sister used to be a television star. Her interest in fashion developed when she was in grade 6 only. In 2004, when Conrad starred in a MTV reality program, Laguna Beach – The Real Orange County, with her classmates, she became prominent on television and the series was also a successful production. After graduating from high school, Conrad joined San Francisco’s Academy of Art University and then transferred after one semester to Los Angeles’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. During this time, Lauren Conrad received commission based work to star in a spin-off series called The Hills. In addition to this, she worked at People’s Revolution owned by Kelly Cutrone and Teen Vogue. In 2009, Conrad quit the show after completing more than four seasons.
Once the acting fever was at a halt, between 2009 and 2011 Conrad launched her fashion lines Paper Crown, and LC Lauren Conrad in collaboration with Kohl’s. Later the line included collections of bedding. Around the same time, she co-founded The Beauty Department with Amy Nadine and Kritin Ess, her makeup artist and hair stylist, respectively. The brand later introduced a cosmetics line as well.
In 2010, she published a book, titled L.A. Candy that became the best-selling piece of work by New York Times. The book was inspired by her own life and the woman in it impersonated Conrad. The project was followed by Sweet Little Lies and then Sugar and Spice. Moreover, she released a book providing fashion guidance. In 2012, she released The Fame Game. A year later, she introduced Infamous, which is meant to be the last novel.
In the same year, she got engaged to William Tell whom she was dating for a year. The two moved to Westwood in Los Angeles to share a residence. In October, Conrad and Hannah Skvarla ( a friend) opened an online shop The Little Market, that traded handmade products by women from various cultural backgrounds.
Later on, she appeared on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Kathy Griffin: My Life on D-List. Furthermore, she was among the jury members on America’s Next Top Model. Her popularity does not end here, Lauren Conrad has been featured on magazine covers, such as Cosmopolitan, StyleWatch, and People. In 2012, she appeared in Glamour magazine issue of May which sold around 500,000 prints and ranked high in the year’s top selling issues. Moreover, she was also shown in Marie Claire and Lucky in 2013.
In addition to her business and media endeavors, she is a Republican Party‘s member. She encouraged people and youngsters to vote through several activities, such as collaborating with Seventeen in order to film Declare Yourself, a public service message aiming to convince young adults to participate in the voting procedure of the presidential elections in 2008.
